Learn Urdu Vocabulary — South Asia's Most Poetic Language
Urdu is the official language of Pakistan and a language of breathtaking literary tradition — some of the world's most celebrated poetry was written in Urdu. It's also the key to understanding much of India's film, music, and 230 million people across South Asia and the diaspora. WordPlus makes vocabulary building accessible from day one by combining Nastaliq script with transliteration and audio.
The Problem
Urdu is written in Nastaliq — one of the most calligraphically complex scripts in the world, written right-to-left with highly stylized letterforms that beginners find nearly impossible to read without formal instruction.
How WordPlus Solves It
WordPlus shows Urdu script alongside transliteration and audio for every word, allowing vocabulary to grow immediately while script recognition develops gradually through repeated exposure to written forms.

Why Urdu Is Hard to Learn
Nastaliq script is exceptionally difficult to read for beginners (more complex than Arabic script), formal Urdu vocabulary (Persianate and Arabic loanwords) differs markedly from spoken Urdu/Hindi, and the script is rarely taught systematically in non-Pakistani schools.
Nastaliq script (right-to-left, highly stylized), but spoken Urdu is mutually intelligible with Hindi.
